Late last month I posted about Two Moose on the Loose in the Targhee National Forest<\/span><\/a> and today I thought I’d share two more images of the moose. The cow was standing near Dairy Creek with blooming Indian Paintbrush in the background while watching over her calf.<\/p>\n

The creek and the moose were too close to the road for me to use my long lens so I had to switch to my D300 with a 70-300mm VR lens to take this image and still keep a safe distance\u00a0from the protective cow moose and her calf.<\/p>\n

This image was taken with my longer lens as the calf started to cross the dirt road to follow the cow to the creek. We looked for the moose several more times in the Dairy Creek area before heading back to Utah but never saw them again. Maybe next trip.<\/p>\n
