The patch of Rocky Mountain Bee Plant where I photographed migrating hummingbirds last summer is very sparse this year but I was able to capture a few images of a Black-chinned Hummingbird female in the area yesterday.<\/p>\n

Hummingbirds pollinate as they sip nectar from plants and if you look closely you can see two more insects in this frame with the hummingbird, a long yellowish beetle and there is another insect at the tip of her bill hidden by the flowers.<\/p>\n

The brief appearance of this Black-chinned Hummingbird<\/span><\/a> delighted me yesterday as she fed on the Rocky Mountain Bee Plant.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0hummingbirds are on the move as they begin their migration to warmer climes\u00a0and before too\u00a0long they will be gone leaving me longing for next spring when they return.<\/p>\n

Each one I have seen, heard or photographed has delighted me this summer, they are such amazing little birds.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
