Yesterday morning before sunrise I was on my way to Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma. I was in need of a nature break.<\/p>\n

It wasn’t very birdy at the refuge. I didn’t see many animals either. But it was quiet, peaceful, and provided me with the goodness that nature brings me.<\/p>\n

It also seemed fitting to visit the refuge since it\u2019s National Wildlife Refuge Week, which this year runs from October 11-18.<\/p>\n

It has been pretty warm here for October, with daytime temps near or at 90 degrees, so I haven\u2019t seen much change in the color of the leaves yet. I hope that will happen soon.<\/p>\n

Some of the Poison Ivy and Virginia Creeper have started to turn red, though.<\/p>\n

Early in the morning, I can tell fall is truly on the way. Overnight temps have gotten cooler.<\/p>\n

I took some photos and videos yesterday with my cell phone, but not very many of birds or animals. Still, I found what I was looking for: a break at a wildlife refuge from the day-to-day stresses of life.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n

Even with the government shutdown, I believe Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge<\/span><\/a> will be closed past the Tuff Boat Ramp for deer hunting October 17, 18, 19, 29, 30, 31.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
