Two years ago during the worst of the summer heat I photographed this Coyote and watched while it was pestered and probably bitten by a persistent Deer Fly.<\/p>\n

I love nature and I am sure all my readers know that but I don’t hold blood-sucking, biting bugs in high regard. Not at all. I’ve had allergic reactions to them so I tend to avoid them when I can.<\/p>\n

But the Coyotes and other wild animals can’t avoid them for long. Coyotes and other animals that can escape underground might avoid them while they are resting but they have to come above ground to eat.<\/p>\n

You might be wondering where the Deer Fly is because it isn’t terribly obvious but you can see a dark spot on the Coyote’s muzzle and that is where the pesky fly was.<\/p>\n

I had insect repellent on and those flies were still irritating me.<\/p>\n

Life really isn’t easy for the Coyotes<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
