The weather and deer hunting season have been keeping me out of the field, so I went into my archives and found this Tufted Titmouse with fall colors in the background.<\/p>\n

I’m seeing and hearing Tufted Titmice here in the yard. So far, I just haven’t been able to photograph them out in the open with fall colors in the background this year.<\/p>\n

I took this titmouse photo last year in my friend Steve Creek’s yard<\/span><\/a> at his feeders.<\/p>\n

I’m enjoying daily doses of Tufted Titmouse cuteness. I just wish I was having better opportunities for having them out in the open and in my viewfinder.<\/p>\n

I didn’t get to see, hear, or photograph this titmouse species while I lived in Utah. We had Juniper Titmice there, and they weren’t exactly easy to find or photograph. I had my best opportunities with them on solo journeys to the sky island mountains of the West Desert.<\/p>\n

Driving slow and listening for their calls really helped.<\/p>\n

Even then, it was a challenge to get the Juniper Titmice in focus in my viewfinder because they didn\u2019t stay still for long.<\/p>\n

Maybe today I’ll have better luck with the Tufted Titmice here. That would be wonderful.<\/p>\n
