Today I am sharing my first Snow Geese photos of this fall taken at Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma. They aren’t anything to write home about.<\/p>\n

But it was my first time at the refuge in two weeks due to weather and refuge closures for deer hunting, and they are<\/em> Snow Geese. I get very excited about these geese here.<\/p>\n

It did feel good to get back to the refuge.<\/p>\n

Part of the reason I struggled photographing the Snow Geese yesterday is that they were on the wrong side of the road.<\/p>\n

Maybe a better way of putting that is that the geese were on the wrong side of the light. They were east of the road, and so was the sun.<\/p>\n

The geese did try crossing the dirt road a couple of times, but vehicles kept coming along, moving them back to the bad side of the light.<\/p>\n

Even when the Snow Geese were in flight, they tended to stay east of where I had parked on the road. It was a touch frustrating, especially since it was cold and the winds had decided to kick into high gear.<\/p>\n

My hands were freezing, my eyes were tearing up, and that made it hard to see.<\/p>\n

I hope I have better luck with the Snow Geese<\/span><\/a> when I head back to the refuge. It would be wonderful to take some of my dream photos of the geese that I\u2019ve wanted for a very long time.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
