The weather here in Utah has been abysmal for days, torrents of rain have flooded areas in southern Utah, and it has been foggy, rainy and just plain gray for days here in the Salt Lake valley. I’m itching to get back out photographing birds.<\/p>\n

Yesterday there was a thick bank of fog over Antelope Island State Park but I found and pointed out quite a few Coyotes moving in through it, all of them looked ghostly. This Coyote standing on a hillside in the dense fog in particular looked more ghostly to me than the others I found.<\/p>\n

I know a great many people don’t like Coyotes but I do. We humans displaced them from many of their natural habitats and we put a bounty on their heads. We built homes, factories, farms, and buildings on lands the Coyotes hunted and we wonder now why more Coyotes are showing up in urban areas?<\/p>\n

For me, there is something about the call of the Coyotes that puts me deeply in touch with nature, it is a call of the wild. I’d much rather listen to the howling Coyotes<\/span><\/a> than the noises of a city or car horns honking on the freeway. One is music to my ears, the other a horrible buzz.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
