This morning, I’m sharing a simple male Slate-colored Dark-eyed Junco photo I took one week ago during a snowstorm. The junco was waiting his turn to feed.<\/p>\n

I had tossed out some small suet balls for the birds to eat because it was bitter cold and suet is high protein.<\/p>\n

Even though I was bundled up in multiple layers and sitting in my camping chair on the porch, I didn’t last long in the deep freeze before I had to go back inside to get warm.<\/p>\n

I can only imagine how cold all the birds were.<\/p>\n

The Dark-eyed Juncos were the most numerous birds I saw that snowy day, with the White-throated Sparrows in second.<\/p>\n

Here it is, a week later. The temp this morning is a mere 22\u00b0F. There is still a layer of ice covered snow on the ground here. Tomorrow the snow should finally disappear because the high is going to be around 60\u00b0F.<\/p>\n

I’m ready for warmer temps. I bet the birds, including this male Slate-colored Dark-eyed Junco<\/span><\/a>, are ready too!<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
