I couldn&#8217;t resist taking video of the Great Egret since it was so close to me. And the egret was in breeding plumage at that.<br \/>\nWhat I didn&#8217;t expect to see was the Great Egret log rolling like a feathered lumberjack, though!<\/p>\n<p>Watching this large, white wading bird log rolling happen in real time was funny, rewatching it in video format even more so.<\/p>\n<p>Great Egrets can be found at the refuge in the sloughs, ditches, fields, roosting high in live or dead trees, at the edge of Sally Jones Lake, and the banks of the Arkansas River.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve yet to see young Great Egrets at the refuge or find where they might be nesting, but I keep looking.<\/p>\n<p>I hope this log rolling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allaboutbirds.org\/guide\/Great_Egret\/id\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Great Egret<\/span><\/a> video makes you chuckle.
