Last week I was tickled to photograph an adult Great Blue Heron in a morning mist at the Lower Scarborough Slough area of Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The mist rising off the slough helped give my photos of this heron a dark, moody, mysterious look to them naturally.<\/p>\n

Great Blue Herons are wading birds I have seen and photographed practically everywhere I have wandered in the continental U.S., and I’ve wandered a lot.<\/p>\n

I would have enjoyed staying with this heron longer to photograph her or him as the sun finally rose above the trees on the east side of the slough. My timing was slightly off, though.<\/p>\n

The heron flew off.<\/p>\n

Perhaps another day I’ll get those sun-kissed but misty Great Blue Heron photos in the slough to add to my image gallery of this species.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
