Earlier this week I spotted a young pale Raccoon wandering next to the road at the edge of dense trees at Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge.<\/p>\n

Even though the lighting conditions were awful, I wanted to get photos of this unusually pale-colored Raccoon. Behind the Raccoon there was a patch of brightly lit spring leaves, but the Raccoon was in shade. Those conditions made for a challenging exposure.<\/p>\n

The refuge has normal Raccoons, but it also has some that are pale blondish and even cinnamon-colored Raccoons too as shown on my friend Steve Creek’s site<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Seeing these pale Raccoons at the refuge always excites me.<\/p>\n

This little one had some cinnamon coloring to their body and tail fur but its face was mostly pale, or blond.<\/p>\n

The young Raccoon climbed onto a tree trunk and peered at me from behind it for a minute or two. I couldn’t resist taking photos of their sweet face.<\/p>\n

It is always a treat and a joy for me to have a Raccoon in my viewfinder.<\/p>\n
