Lately I’ve been able to photograph 4 different sparrow species between Antelope Island State Park and Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area. I keep hoping for a Harris’s Sparrow but these delight me all the same.<\/p>\n

\"Lincoln'sLincoln’s Sparrow on a fence rail<\/span><\/p>\n

I don’t have many opportunities to photograph Lincoln’s Sparrows but earlier this month I had a few seconds with this one before it flew off. It perched briefly on a fence rail near the road at Farmington Bay WMA and gave me some great looks.<\/p>\n

\"JuvenileJuvenile White-crowned Sparrows on a bush<\/span><\/p>\n

Last week on Antelope Island State Park there were quite a few White-crowned Sparrows flitting around both campgrounds and these two perched long enough at the White Rock Bay campground for me to get a few frames of these juveniles.<\/p>\n

\"SongSong Sparrow on a frosty fence post<\/span><\/p>\n

This morning at Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area I was able to get some images of this Song Sparrow as it perched on a frosty fence post from a distance. I love to get sparrow images where the bird is small in the frame because it shows how tiny they can be in a great big world.<\/p>\n

\"SaucySaucy looking American Tree Sparrow<\/span><\/p>\n

I also found a small flock of American Tree Sparrows feeding on the tops of a stand of phragmites just after sunrise this morning. Small in the frame yes but in my mind this sparrow has a lot of presence.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
