This morning I was looking through some images that I had taken in August of 2014 and came across this juvenile Western Kingbird photo that I hadn’t touched at all.<\/p>\n

I don’t have as many images of young Western Kingbirds as I would like so this morning I wondered why I hadn’t processed this file.<\/p>\n

Truth be told,\u00a0 I have thousands of images I haven’t processed, posted or shared.<\/p>\n

It is the nature of the beast that is bird photography. Trying to allocate time to be in the field, time to cull out the bad images, and time to process the images I do want to share has to come from somewhere and most of the time there aren’t enough hours in the day.<\/p>\n

So I go back to older files from time to time and poke around looking for images that catch my eye.<\/p>\n

By the way, I can tell this is a juvenile because the colors are softer than they are on an adult but also because the gape has some pink to it which wouldn’t show on an adult.<\/p>\n

I’m not sure what kind of bush this juvenile Western Kingbird at Farmington Bay<\/span><\/a> is perched on but I do like the way the leaves seem to embrace and cradle the young bird.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
