Once upon a time I paid more attention to wildflowers and insects and photographed them extensively when I had the chance so today I thought I would resurrect one of my old files.<\/p>\n

This image was taken at Sawgrass Lake Park in Pinellas County Florida in July of 2007 with my first DSLR, the Nikon D70.<\/p>\n

The light was low because of clouds overhead and because of the trees over my head. I had to be careful because there were alligators lurking in the lake and when they are underwater they can be very hard to see so I didn’t want to get too close to the water’s edge.<\/p>\n

The beauty of the native American White Waterlily<\/span><\/a> drew me to Sawgrass Lake Park quite often those days and when they were close to the water’s edge I could smell their fragrant perfume. I wasn’t the only one though because bees love to visit them too.<\/p>\n

Then I started focusing more on photographing birds and the rest; as they say… is history.<\/p>\n

Life is good.<\/p>\n
