Snowy Egrets are migratory birds here in Utah and many of them have already nested but in Florida they were year round residents. There weren’t many times that I missed seeing them when I went to the north beach of Fort De Soto though I did see them a bit less often during their nesting season. These are a few of my images of Snowy Egrets on the Gulf Coast of Florida.<\/p>\n

I think Snowy Egrets are graceful both in flight and while on land and water.<\/p>\n

I have taken a few images of Snowy Egret when they look goofy or less graceful but that can happen with any bird if you take enough images of them.<\/p>\n

I like the challenge of exposing the whites properly so the whites look white and not gray or muddy looking and that shows the fine details in the plumage.<\/p>\n

I also like to take images of Snowy Egrets that show their “Golden Slippers” a name that some people use when speaking of Snowy Egrets.<\/p>\n

I’m hoping to add images of Snowy Egrets to my portfolio this summer that might be taken at Farmington Bay WMA or up north at Bear River National Wildlife Refuge. With as much rain as we have had this May it might be nice to have a little “Snow” too.<\/p>\n
