Owls are well known for being able to turn their heads 270 degrees, Long-billed Curlews aren’t.<\/p>\n

This Long-billed Curlew was foraging normally at Fort De Soto County Park<\/span><\/a>‘s north beach as I knelt in a tidal lagoon photographing it 6 years ago today when it pushed its bill into the sand and then twisted its neck and head around.<\/p>\n

It looked a bit odd to say the least and happened very quickly so this is the only frame I have that shows this.<\/p>\n

I guess we all get twisted around some times, even some birds.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
