There are loads of young Sage Thrashers on Antelope Island<\/span><\/a> at the moment so it seems their first broods were fairly successful.<\/p>\n

I’ve noticed small groups of teen-aged thrashers chasing each other around and congregating in the same locations. These birds might be siblings or they might not but I found the social behavior interesting.<\/p>\n

Some of these young birds seem shy and hide in bushes with only their heads sticking out like the one in my image above.<\/p>\n

I know that many bird photographers prefer to be able to see the whole bird without being hidden by obstructing vegetation in their images.<\/p>\n

For me, there there are times I prefer to photograph “hidden treasures” that show only a portion of the bird in their native habitats.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
