After a rainy summer day there were puddles on the dirt roads of Antelope Island State Park and this juvenile Loggerhead Shrike<\/span><\/a> took advantage of a puddle and bathed.<\/p>\n

Not only did it bathe but it flew in so close to me that I could only take close up shots of it before it flew off to the puddle again.<\/p>\n

Puddles aren’t all that common on the island during the dry days of summer and when they appear after a nice rain the birds on the island seem to enjoy bathing in the fresh water.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
