I am always thrilled when a Virginia Rail comes out into the open because typically they are shy, secretive marsh birds. They blend so easily into their habitat so that most of the time I only see a small portion of their body before they disappear. A few times in the past couple of weeks I have been able to see and photograph adult and juvenile Virginia Rails at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge<\/span><\/a> and that has delighted me.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
