About two weeks ago I photographed this American Coot running on water at Farmington Bay WMA<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sometimes I see and photograph running coots when they are squabbling and chasing each other due to territorial disputes but in this case it was a duck hunter that walked past and caused all of the coots in the area to run across the water.<\/p>\n

It didn’t take the coots long to settle back in and start feeding again but for a few seconds it seemed like there was chaos on the water as more than twenty coots went past me.<\/p>\n

I liked this image because of the sharpness of the American Coot<\/span><\/a>, the view of its red eye, huge, green feet, and the blur of the splashing water.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
