My first winter in Utah was a delight to me because I could photograph Northern Harriers practically every time I went to Farmington Bay WMA<\/span><\/a>. Northern Harriers were much harder to come by in Florida and far more difficult to get close to. I was still getting used to using a a vehicle as a mobile blind and having my mobility restricted because in Florida I almost always photographed while on foot.<\/p>\n

I photographed this juvenile Northern Harrier as it perched on a post from a vehicle near Goose Egg Island at Farmington Bay. I didn’t see juvenile Northern Harriers in Florida like I do here in Utah so being able to watch and photograph this one as it rested quietly on the post was wonderful.<\/p>\n
