Yesterday I was able to photograph this Mule Deer buck in fog on Antelope Island State Park<\/span><\/a> as he and another buck trailed after some does. The fog was especially thick on the north end of the island and it was a challenge to see anything further away than around 100 feet.
\nThe deer were close to the side of the road, so close that I had to take my teleconverter off to fit this buck into the frame.<\/p>\n

The rut has about finished on the island but this buck was still sniffing the doe that was in front of him just outside of the frame of this image. Unlike the last buck I photographed on the island who had quite a few battle scars<\/span><\/a> this buck seems to have come through the rut unscathed.<\/p>\n

It is a challenge to photograph wildlife in a fog but quite often I find that I enjoy the results because of the mood the fog lends to the image.<\/p>\n
