Ravens aren’t easy to get close to on Antelope Island State Park<\/a><\/span> so I was happy to photograph this Common Raven in flight two days ago. I’ve found ravens far easier to approach at the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon or even Yellowstone National Park than I have anywhere near where I live in northern Utah. This raven happened to be flying near the causeway to the island when I photographed it it in flight with the sky behind it.<\/p>\n

I like to include images of the locations where I photograph birds and wildlife so I wanted to share this snowy scene from near the White Rock Bay campgrounds on Antelope Island on the same day that I photographed the raven.<\/p>\n

I was impressed by how the thick blanket of snow covered the sagebrush in the foreground since they are kind of tall. I also liked seeing the jackrabbit tracks in the frame. It has been awhile since I have seen this much snow and I have to admit… I am really enjoying it!<\/p>\n
