The light wasn’t as good yesterday morning on as the forecasters had predicted but that shouldn’t be a surprise, those forecasts are more often wrong than they are right.<\/p>\n

I was able to take a very nice series of low light American Bison bull portraits despite the lack of clear skies and sunshine on Antelope Island. I have tons of American Bison images in my portfolio but not that many portraits so when I can get them, I take them. It almost seems silly not to.<\/p>\n

This bison bull was resting at the top of a hill surrounded chewing his cud. I also don’t have many bison portraits where the teeth of the bison are visible so I was happy about that too.<\/p>\n

I am pleased with how these portraits turned out even if I didn’t have the sweet light I had been expecting.<\/p>\n

One bit of exciting news from my neck of the desert valley is that the American Bison<\/span><\/a> on the island have calved and I saw quite a few bison babies or as they are also affectionately known, “Little Reds”. They were on the south end of the island, far from the road and up on the hillside.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
