Yesterday morning while in Box Elder County<\/span><\/a> I was delighted to photograph a Western Kingbird with a hint of Black Mustard in the background as it perched on a fence near the road. I love it when the wild mustard is in bloom here in Utah because it can create colorful backgrounds and even when it is out of focus like it is in this image the thin stems and small flowers can create a lacy, delicate pattern throughout the frame.<\/p>\n

This is one of my first images of Western Kingbirds this year and I also saw an Eastern Kingbird too yesterday morning and can’t wait to create more photographs of the kingbirds of Utah this breeding season.<\/p>\n
