My luck with finding and pointing out Short-eared Owls is still on going. I have found quite a few of them flying in the distance, both males and females.<\/p>\n

\"ClarkClark County male Short-eared Owl – Nikon D810, f7.1, 1\/200, ISO 800, -0.3 EV, Nikkor 500mm VR with 1.4x TC, natural light, not baited<\/span><\/p>\n

Three days ago I spotted this male Short-eared Owl perched on a post in terribly low light in Clark County, Idaho and even though the lighting conditions were awful, I still had to take some images of him.<\/p>\n

The Short-eared Owl was perched on a thick post close to the road and to railroad tracks and spent the first few minutes I was with him on the post looking around, then he dove to the ground very close to the tracks after something but missed.<\/p>\n

After he missed his prey he flew over the railroad tracks and landed on a grassy mound. More photos of him later!<\/p>\n

The male Short-eared Owl in Clark County<\/span><\/a>, Idaho was a beauty even in the poor light.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
