I’ve been meaning to post images of this sub-adult Swainson’s Hawk in low light for about a year now and I am finally getting around to it. The hawk was perched on a fence post above a bluebird nest box next to a road at Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge<\/span><\/a> in southwestern Montana two years ago and even though the light wasn’t the best I just had to take images of it.<\/p>\n

I liked the weathered wood of the fence post with the lichen growing on it, the sagebrush and grasses in the out of focus background and the relaxed pose of the hawk.<\/p>\n

The light wasn’t perfect, that is for sure, but the hawk was.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
