Seeing and photographing an American Barn Owl at Farmington Bay<\/span><\/a> recently made me think of the times I have photographed these owls on clear winter days in northern Utah. I have photographed American Barn Owls in low light, fog and in blowing snow and I truly enjoy those images but I love it when I have clear, bright wintry days to photograph these lovely owls, especially if there is snow in the frame or snowy mountains in the background.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year in January I was able to photograph an American Barn Owl in flight flying directly towards me with the snowy Promontory Mountains in the background while at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge<\/span><\/a>. This owl made several passes back and forth along the auto tour route before it flew off into the marsh.<\/p>\n

Any day with an owl in it is a good day.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
