The sun was bright and lovely yesterday morning at Farmington Bay WMA, the temps were on the chilly side with a low of 31\u00b0F and there were birds out and about to make the day even better. I was hoping to see and photograph the male Belted Kingfisher<\/a><\/span> again or perhaps the Barn Owl<\/span><\/a> that has been hanging around and hunting during the day.<\/p>\n

Instead I was delighted by several tiny Marsh Wrens foraging in some cattails close enough to photograph with autumn colors in the background. I’ve found it challenging to photograph these small wrens because they move so quickly plus they seem to prefer to stay hidden from view so when I get the chance to photograph them out in the open I jump on it. The wrens yesterday were a treat.<\/p>\n
