I didn’t set my alarm clock last night because the forecast said it was going to be cloudy this morning and remarkably I slept later than I have in a long, long time so this will be a short post.<\/p>\n

Even though Canada Geese are a common sight where I live and even though some people consider them pests I still love photographing them when the opportunity arises, especially if there is a chance for action shots.<\/p>\n

When I had the opportunity to photograph this Canada Goose landing on Willow Pond I took it and I caught the goose as its webbed feet hit the water so that it looked like the goose was water skiing. I wonder if landing like that is as much fun as it appears to be.<\/p>\n

This image was taken the middle of December when there was still plenty of open water on the pond. With the low temps we have had here in northern Utah the past few days there is only about a third or less of the pond with open water now. When I checked out the pond yesterday the geese, ducks and gulls were either bunched up in the open water or on the snow-covered ice resting. They have a long winter ahead of them.<\/p>\n
