When I need to smile, nature helps with that. If I am out in the field I have the birds, the scenery, the earthy scents, and the sky that help me smile.<\/p>\n

It is easier to relax when I am surrounded by the great outdoors and all the creatures in it.<\/p>\n

One of the birds that always<\/em> make me smile are young Burrowing Owls because they are so darn cute and expressive even when they are just standing still.<\/p>\n

Two years ago in July I photographed this young Burrowing Owl on a post in morning light and I relaxed and let a smile form on my lips.<\/p>\n

It was the first bird I photographed that morning and after a 90 mile drive the young owl was a very welcome sight. I feel like they are a treasured gift.<\/p>\n

I hope this young owl makes you smile too.<\/p>\n
