I love hidden treasures which to me means seeing only part of a bird or animal buried in its habitat going about the business of its daily life. The best part of course is seeing my subject’s eyes and face.<\/p>\n

Why? When I view those images I feel like I am a part of the subject’s world and I feel intimately connected to my subject. I’m peeking into their daily life and my photos… well they are an added bonus.<\/p>\n

Sometimes that means that my subject appears to peeking out at me. This Orange-crowned Warbler probably wasn’t peeking out of the serviceberry shrub at me.<\/p>\n

It was more than likely looking at the ripe fruit just in front of its bill. When I look at this photo though I do feel that the warbler was peeking at me.<\/p>\n

Immediately after I took this image the Orange-crowned Warbler leapt forward and landed on the branch with the ripe fruit just in front of it and was hidden almost completely by the leaves and fruit.<\/p>\n

For one brief moment though I felt that the warbler had connected to me with one furtive glance before it went back to its life.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
