While I am out looking for birds to photograph I like to take other photos of the wildlife I see on my journeys and some of my favorites are the different species of squirrels I see here in Utah, Idaho and Montana.<\/p>\n

My portfolio though is lacking my “dream” images of White-tailed Antelope Squirrels because I don’t see them all that often and when I do they generally aren’t close to me.<\/p>\n

I photographed this White-tailed Antelope Squirrel<\/span><\/a> in 2016 near Torrey in Wayne County, Utah, the squirrel was resting on a boulder a couple hundred yards away from where I was camping.<\/p>\n

While I wish I could have gotten closer to the squirrel but that just wasn’t possible since I was photographing from inside of a vehicle and other boulders next to the road prevented any movement in the squirrel’s direction.<\/p>\n

I liked to pose of the squirrel, the textures of the boulder, the background colors and the great eye contact I had with the squirrel.<\/p>\n

I’ve photographed these antelope squirrels closer to home in the West Desert and it might improve my chances of photographing this species and getting my “dream” photos of them if I spent time in that general area more often than I do. I’ll be making a note to self to do just that.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
