I’ve had a like – dislike relationship with this male Yellow-rumped Warbler photo since I took it during migration last spring.<\/p>\n

I love the simplicity of it and that there is a nice smooth background behind the bird plus I really like his pose, head angle and the great eye contact I had with the warbler.<\/p>\n

What I don’t like about it is that the warbler is a little darker than I would like for him to be.<\/p>\n

The Yellow-rumped Warbler was perched under a branch that had leaves that shaded him and the background was lit up by the sun.<\/p>\n

Even though I increased my exposure compensation to +0.7 to lighten the bird up it wasn’t quite enough for my tastes. I could lighten up the warbler more in post processing but when I tried that it introduced noise that I found less than acceptable.<\/p>\n

Perhaps if I had used +1.0 or +1.3 as my exposure compensation setting at the time I photographed this male Yellow-rumped Warbler<\/span><\/a> the exposure would have satisfied me more but the background would have been very bright.<\/p>\n

Warblers like this Yellow-rumped can be very flighty and there are times I wish I could have an immediate do over before they take flight and disappear. I know that I wish I could have a do over with this guy.<\/p>\n
