I went back to the Stansbury Mountains yesterday hoping to photograph the nesting House Wrens<\/a><\/span> and other birds but I think the cold weather had an impact on the bird activity.<\/p>\n

It had actually snowed overnight and although it was just a light dusting the temps had dropped to below freezing and the birds just weren’t as active as they had been the day before.<\/p>\n

The roads were a lot sloppier than they had been the day before when I had driven into the mountains and at times it felt like sliding over slick pudding instead of an actual dirt road.<\/p>\n

My best photo of the morning was a Mule Deer<\/span><\/a> doe in a stand of junipers and even then a cloud blocked the beautiful light. Yes, that is snow on the junipers, on May 1st!<\/p>\n

I took a few cell phone shots of the junipers just to remind myself of how fickle the weather can be here in spring.<\/p>\n

Today is supposed to be sunny and about ten degrees warmer than it was yesterday. I think the birds will be warmer today than they were yesterday and so will I.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
