For several weeks I have been searching for hummingbirds up in the Wasatch Mountains<\/span><\/a> to photograph but until this week I hadn’t found any Black-chinned Hummingbirds. My first view of this male Black-chinned was not in flight though instead he was perched on a branch sipping nectar from a Black Twinberry Honeysuckle.<\/p>\n

There is a male Broad-tailed Hummingbird who has staked his claim on this clump of honeysuckles so perhaps this Black-chinned was perching rather than hovering at times to stay out of the view of the male Broad-tailed.<\/p>\n

The little Black-chinned Hummingbird did actually take flight to feed on the nectar of the honeysuckle and for a few moments was able to hover peacefully before the male Broad-tailed Hummingbird chased him off.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good. Birds keep it interesting.<\/p>\n
