On the 20th of June I was enchanted by a Least Chipmunk feeding of the flowers of a small shrub up in the Wasatch Mountains<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

At first I could barely see the chipmunk but bit by bit it moved into the light. I was aiming my lens down a steep slope from a vehicle and the chipmunk didn’t seem bothered at all.<\/p>\n

The shrub is a Round Leaf Snowberry (Symphoricarpos rotundifolius<\/em>).<\/p>\n

I was tickled to get this photo because I could see the chipmunk’s tiny pink tongue.<\/p>\n

These chipmunks are small, quick and a challenge to photograph as they move around while eating. I liked how in the photo it looked as if the chipmunk was holding a little bouquet of flowers with its paws.<\/p>\n

Also, I enjoyed being able to see the entire length of the chipmunk’s tail.<\/p>\n

This last image made me smile as I took it and as I edited it for posting here in this post and in my galleries because I liked how it showed the chipmunk reaching for the flowers in front of it.<\/p>\n

It was a lot of fun for me to watch and photograph this Least Chipmunk chowing down on the flowers of this shrub.<\/p>\n

I don’t get to see Least Chipmunks year round here in northern Utah so I try to photograph them each time I see them because they are such charming subjects. This one sure charmed me.<\/p>\n
