Note:<\/strong> I am still having some server issues and the company that hosts my server is working on them. I haven’t been able to send or receive domain based email since Saturday and the site goes down now and then or looks horribly formatted. My apologies for not responding to emails or if they are bouncing back saying they are undeliverable. I hope they get this sorted out today.

Just a short post today with a photo of a male Broad-tailed Hummingbird getting nectar from an unknown wildflower, or at least it is unknown to me. I took this photo on July 21, 2019 and when I was at the same location a few days ago I noted that these orange colored wildflowers had finished blooming and were setting seed. I haven’t had time to figure out what the plant is but I was happy to see that the hummingbirds like it.<\/p>\n

Update<\/strong>: Thanks to my friends Eve Wills<\/span><\/a> and Sally Wood I now know that this is a Lanceleaf Figwort (Scrophularia lanceolata<\/em>) that the hummingbird is feeding from.<\/p>\n

It won’t be long before the hummingbirds migrate so I am going to try to photograph them as often as I can.<\/p>\n
