When bird activity slows down or when I am actively scanning for birds I often see other subjects that I can’t resist photographing.<\/p>\n

While looking for and photographing birds in the Wasatch Mountains<\/span><\/a> this past Sunday I also had some furry critters in my viewfinder.<\/p>\n

That morning chipmunks seemed to be everywhere I looked so when they came out into the open I focused on them when there weren’t birds around.<\/p>\n

I noticed that the Golden Currants have started to ripen and this chipmunk was actively feeding on the fruits when I caught sight of it and twisted my body like a pretzel to take a few photos of it.<\/p>\n

Sitting inside a vehicle and using it as a mobile blind does have its limitations as far as range of movement goes.<\/p>\n

I love how in this image it appears that the Least Chipmunk was looking directly at me and even though the setting is busy how well the chippy stands out.<\/p>\n

I hope to photograph more chipmunks soon.<\/p>\n
