Yesterday I saw a female Black-chinned Hummingbird (Archilochus alexandri<\/em>) checking out the feeder near my front window. I realized that I haven’t posted any hummingbirds to my blog yet so I decided to post this one that I photographed a few years ago in the backyard.<\/p>\n

The hummingbirds here will soon be leaving. I should have spent more time photographing them. I should put that on my list to do next season.<\/p>\n

I don’t use flash on birds because of my own personal ethics regarding bird photography so I used a tripod for stability knowing I wasn’t going to get a fast shutter speed with the light that was available.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
