Anyone who knows me at all knows that I think about birds a lot. I think about birds in the morning, at noon, before the sun goes down and I even dream about them at night.<\/p>\n

Last night I had a dream about a Great Horned Owl that I found while driving on the back roads of some imaginary place my subconscious mind made up where there were tall, evergreen trees next to a dirt road. In my dream I was driving slowly because even in a sound sleep I know that is the best<\/em> way to spot birds in heavily wooded areas. Move too fast in the woods and you will miss birds.<\/p>\n

In my dream I heard the call of an alarmed raven ahead of me so I started looking more carefully for the raven and then I saw the outline of a bird close to the trunk of a tree that I knew right away wasn’t a raven but that of a roosting Great Horned Owl. As I drove closer to the tree trunk the owl slowly opened its bright yellow eyes, turned its head towards me and hooted a few times.<\/p>\n

The sound of the owl calling seemed so realistic that I woke from my dream, got up, went to my living room window and looked outside just to make sure that I wasn’t really hearing a Great Horned Owl. I didn’t find an owl outside my window but I did enjoy finding one in my dream.<\/p>\n

I’ve been cooped up inside for far too long because of the weather, it may be time to pack a lunch and go for a long country drive, in a forest, to look for birds.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
