Just a simple image today of a juvenile White-crowned Sparrow with a pumpkin patch in the background as the month of October comes to an end.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a kind of magic in October. The light gets lower, the pumpkins get riper, and the world leans into the warmth of oranges and golds.<\/p>\n

Out at the edge of a patch dotted with vines and bright sunflowers, I spotted this young White-crowned Sparrow.<\/p>\n

Just sitting there. Calm. Watchful. Like a little period at the end of autumn\u2019s sentence.<\/p>\n

These quiet moments are what I live for.<\/p>\n

Wandering the margins of farm fields, where wild things still find room.<\/p>\n

The pumpkin patch isn\u2019t just about decorations or harvest. It\u2019s alive. There\u2019s the dry rustle of wings, the whisper of feathers skimming through crisp leaves.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not the pumpkins I\u2019m after. It\u2019s the presence. The stillness. The birds that show up when no one else is looking.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
