Typically I only hear Virginia Rails <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xeno-canto.org\/382232\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">calling<\/span><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xeno-canto.org\/359349\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">singing<\/span><\/a> and when I do see them I barely catch a glimpse of them before they disappears into the marshes.<\/p>\n<p>I took all of these Virginia Rail photos at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fws.gov\/refuge\/bear_river_migratory_bird_refuge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge<\/span><\/a> in August of 2015. By driving slowly I can pick up on their movements in the vegetation.
