Two days ago I was up in the Wasatch Mountains. The day started off with thick clouds overhead scuttling across the sky, the roads were wet and I could tell it had rained not long before I had arrived. The puddles on the shoulder of the road reflected the lead colored clouds in the sky and moisture hung in the air.<\/p>\n

Conditions for bird photography weren’t terrific but I was determined to photograph what I saw despite that fact. I photographed a few Yellow Warblers in the low light and then a small, brown bird on a branch caught my eyes.<\/p>\n

The Song Sparrow was damp, fluffed up because of the chill on the air, and the low light made the sparrow look a touch somber. That was only in my mind though.<\/p>\n

The Song Sparrow didn’t let the gray clouds overhead, the moisture in the air or its damp feathers stop it from singing<\/span><\/a> to all the other birds within earshot. I have to admire that. I do admire that.<\/p>\n

Just hearing the Song Sparrow sing brightened up my morning.<\/p>\n
