While looking through my archives last month I came across this Bald Eagle photo and decided to process it even though the eagle is small in the frame.<\/p>\n

This photo was taken early in the morning in the Centennial Valley of southwestern Montana a bit more than five years ago. It was so early that the sunlight had not yet illuminated the conifer that the Bald Eagle was perched in. It is highly likely that the eagle roosted in that tree overnight.<\/p>\n

What can’t be seen in this image is that there was also a nest above the eagle that I couldn’t fit into the frame. The conifer was at the edge of a forest and behind it there are mountains in the background and as I recall those mountains were shrouded in fog and that the temperature was well below freezing.<\/p>\n

I’m not sure why I like this Bald Eagle image as much as I do but I do know that while I am looking at it I feel calm.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
