I took this American Bison image nearly five years ago with the iconic Great Salt Lake in the background. I adore being able to include the lake in my photos of these large mammals whenever I can. I’m not sure why I didn’t process and share this photo in 2015 but I came across it last week and edited it to share now.<\/p>\n

I’m always going to be more of a bird photographer but I can’t resist photographing mammals when I get the chance. In other words, I won’t drive past them just because they aren’t birds.<\/p>\n

When I see American Bison at Antelope Island State Park<\/span><\/a> I am always very aware of how close we came to losing them entirely and that fact makes me appreciate them even more. Today American Bison are being reintroduced to areas of their historical range on reservations and public lands. It is about freaking time.<\/p>\n
