I’m anxious to start photographing the ducks I see close to home during the winter here in the Salt Lake Valley and from what I understand a few Common Goldeneyes have shown up. I’m hoping that this year I’ll be able to take more photos of the Common Goldeneyes in flight and displaying.<\/p>\n

I’ve gotten a few images of this diving duck species displaying but many of those images are from a distance and I’d like some that are closer and frame filling. I’ve also taken some photos of this species in flight but I’d like more.<\/p>\n

This photo was taken nearly two years ago at a pond close to where I live as the adult drake Common Goldeneye was about to land on the surface of the pond. I like how he is using his wings, tail and even his feet to slow down his momentum.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
