This morning I wanted to share two Barn Swallow photos that I took two mornings ago on the north side of the auto tour route at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge<\/span><\/a>. It was cool, bright, and the light was nice on the swallow where it perched close to edge of the road. I took quite a few photos of this swallow that morning.<\/p>\n

I’m seeing swallows everywhere at the refuge now and I hope that they will have a successful breeding season.<\/p>\n

It isn’t all that often that I have a Barn Swallow so close that I have to back my lens up inside of a “mobile blind” just so I can focus on it. I could have removed my 1.4x teleconverter and that would have helped but my desire to have frame filling images of this swallow prevented me from taking the teleconverter off.<\/p>\n

I adore seeing and photographing Barn Swallows and the other swallow species that spend their breeding season at the refuge. There is a peaceful feeling that washes over me as I watch them on the wing over the marshes and wetlands. I think after the year we have had everyone could use a bit of that feeling.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
