I took my first of year Yellow Warbler photos in the Wasatch Mountains<\/span><\/a> when I drove up into the mountains on Friday morning. I liked the photos I took of males yesterday better so I am sharing them today. Friday morning was windy and I had difficulty keeping focus on these bright yellow birds as they sang<\/span><\/a> and foraged in the willows. Yesterday was less windy thankfully.<\/p>\n

I’ve waited since September of last year to see and hear these tiny yellow warblers.<\/p>\n

High in the mountains spring comes a bit slower than it does down in the Salt Lake Valley but signs of spring are becoming more and more evident up there. Birds are migrating in, the catkins of the willows are opening, and wildflowers have begun to bloom.<\/p>\n

Sitting and listening to the Yellow Warblers and watching them chase each other around in the thickets brings me joy. How could they not?<\/p>\n

I’m looking forward to spending more time with Yellow Warblers during their breeding season and watching them rear their young.<\/p>\n

Speaking of rearing young, happy Mother’s Day to all of the Moms out there. I’ll be calling my mom soon.<\/p>\n
