Last week while up in the Wasatch Mountains<\/span><\/a> I took a series of close up images of this Uinta Ground Squirrel plus an ant on its right front leg. I didn’t realize while I was taking photos of the ground squirrel that it had an ant on its legs. I looked through my photos of the squirrel and saw that the ant was only there for four frames and in three of them I couldn’t even make out that it was<\/em> an ant. This was the only image where I could clearly see it.<\/p>\n

I have taken lots of Uinta Ground Squirrel images over the years and I believe this is the first time I’ve take some with an insect in the photos.<\/p>\n

This week I should start seeing Uinta Ground Squirrel babies near and around their burrows. They are cute plus far more playful than the adults and I hope to take some photos of them too.<\/p>\n
